The Current Cultural Climate and Authority – A Postmodern View

The seeds of the aforementioned Enlightment period eventually gave birth to philosophies that questioned among other things the right of any one individual or nation to define such notions as truth and morality. Some recent philosophical systems aggressively attack the notion of authority. Postmodernists for instance teach that objective standards, morals, and truth cannot exist beyond cultures since they are culturally derived, and are doubtful that they can exist beyond any individually held truth.

Book Review – The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist – Andy Bannister

One of the clearest distinguishing characteristics of the so-called new atheism, is its moral certitude. Richard Dawkins, the late Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett ,and Samuel Harris, as well as many others have declared that atheism has finally and convincingly won the war against Christian theism.

So sure are they of this decisive victory that they have made loud proclamation of the fact and proudly published their summaries of the conflict. Dawkins’s The God Delusion, Hitchens’s God Is Not Great, Harris’s The End of Faith, and Dennett’s Breaking the Spell as well as several other books by these authors and others all trumpet their perceived triumph.

The Spirit of Antichrist in American Government, Politics, and Business

Recent events in American government, politics, and business leave people of faith and strong religious convictions in a difficult position. Our government is clearly manifesting the spirit of antichrist. Let me explain.

The Israelites of the OT were reminded to love God alone through their repeated proclamation of the Shema. For those unfamiliar with this word, the Shema was the declaration of all Israelites contained in Deuteronomy 6:4-8 which says:

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

What We Must Learn From Cecil

Virtual virtuosity is a deadly disease that first blinds adherents and then kills them morally.

America is in the throes of a monumental moral struggle. The recent and ongoing release of videos showing the barbaric evil that Planned Parenthood conducts as a matter of everyday “business” has shaken America like nothing in recent memory. Commentators from many different perspectives have offered their take on the monstrous actions of murdering babies in the womb in such a way that organs can be preserved for sale to a robust “after-market” of so-called research and medical facilities.
