The Love of Many Has Grown Cold – Dr. Mike Spaulding

Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.

Matthew 24:12 NASB

The context of Matthew 24:12 is Jesus speaking to His disciples after leaving Jerusalem during His Passion Week. He had sparred with the religious leaders several times in the preceding days. As He and his disciples left Jerusalem that day, Jesus responded to some of the disciples’ comments about the beauty of the Temple complex. He said that what they thought beautiful would be destroyed one day. This led to some of His disciples asking when that time would come. Jesus then described the things that would be prominent during the time right before His Second Coming.

The timing of this verse in Matthew’s Gospel is generally accepted as being during the time of the Tribulation.[1] This is thought to be the case because Matthew 24:9 mentions “Then they will deliver you to tribulation…” Following that, verses 9-11 describe a falling away from the faith, betrayal, and hatred arising among the brethren to the extent that many will be misled by false prophets apparently suggesting that their betrayal, hatred, and callousness toward the brethren is warranted. Verse 12 describes the fading love of many. Some scholars see this entire passage as part of the period Jesus called “birth pangs” prior to the Tribulation (Matthew 24:8). Regardless of the timing of this worldwide event, I see this very behavior spreading across the world today and especially in American Christianity.

The Ingrained Barbarity of Islam

The recent barbarity inflicted upon the people of Israel shocked many across the world. The bloodthirsty and demonically inspired massacre of innocent men, women, children, and even infants, was rightly denounced by many as the wickedness it was. Of course, those controlled by bloodlust and hatred, which is to say by demons, celebrated the raping, beheading, and brutality of the Hamas Islamists who perpetrated this madness.

God will not be mocked and He will judge not just those who celebrate, enabled, and supplied the actual murderers with the opportunity to carry out this travesty, but all the people who smirked and threw out the ignorant platitude “Zionism is equally evil and therefore the Israelis deserved what they received.” Let me say this plainly to all the “Zionism is evil” crowd, which includes many who believe they are born-again Christians: Your blatant animosity toward anything Jewish or pertaining to Israel, is a clear sign that you do not understand God, His Word, or the mission of the ecclesia in these end times.

As I was traveling to an appointment today, this teaching was playing on our radio station. God’s timing is perfect. We must awake from the demonic-Islamic tranquilizer that has produced a deep and ignorant stupor to fall upon people with the available means to stop this madness.

Did the Jewish People of Jesus’ Day Expect a Healing Messiah?

A question was recently submitted to the GK Podcast Network for inclusion on the Ask Dr. Mike live show. Here is a shortened version of the question.

In Matthew, the sick and even the healthy expect the Son of David to be a healer. It’s not clear to me why the 1st century Jews would have expected the Son of David (which I interpret to be the Messiah/Anointed One/Rightful King) to be e healer from reading the OT.

What follows is my response to this question. Continue reading →

The Potential Pitfalls with the Traditional View of the Seal Judgments Part 1 – Bill Salus

This article is taken from a chapter in the Bill Salus book entitled, The Next Prophecies.

There is a dominant tendency in the prophetic community to place the opening of the seal judgments within the seven-year Tribulation period, a.k.a. Daniel’s Seventieth Week. This article series exposes some of the potential pitfalls with this traditional teaching and introduces an alternative view to the timing of the Seal Judgments.

The alternative view presents the possibility that the first five seal judgments are opened in a mysterious prophetic time-gap that exists between the Rapture and the Tribulation period. Although these five seals are opened in the gap, they find final fulfillment within the Tribulation period.

Introducing the Post-Rapture / Pre-Tribulation Gap Period

Before examining the seal judgments it’s important to introduce the Post-Rapture / Pre-Tribulation gap period. This time-gap begins in the immediate aftermath of the Rapture, which positions it in the Post-Rapture period. However, it concludes at the commencement point of the seven-year Tribulation period, making it a Pre-Tribulation interval.
